System resilience starts with clarity

Build a structured, comprehensive view of your system assurance with ASCE

Simplify the creation and management of your safety, security, assurance, and compliance cases with our ASCE software.

What is ASCE?

ASCE is a specialist assurance case software designed for organisations that need to build and demonstrate confidence in complex systems. It provides a structured environment for developing, managing, and maintaining assurance arguments supported by evidence, helping teams address safety, security, resilience, compliance, environmental, and operational concerns throughout the system lifecycle.

Why ASCE?

Traditional approaches to developing and maintaining assurance cases can be highly complex, lengthy and expensive. ASCE makes the management of assurance information and demonstration of regulatory compliance easier, more efficient and more cost effective, helping you move faster with confidence.

  • Build clear, defensible arguments using structured case patterns and visual notations.
  • Keep cases “living” with change control across narrative, structure, and evidence.
  • Improve traceability and audit readiness with evidence linking and custom reporting.
  • Collaborate efficiently with tailored stakeholder views, shared task tracking, and in-context comments.
  • Improve efficiency at scale by reusing proven case structures to accelerate updates and reduce manual rework.
  • Reduce project risk by spotting assurance gaps early and resolving issues sooner - preventing approval delays that can stall progress.

ASCE supports assurance‑driven resilience activities across multiple domains - especially where rigour, traceability, and auditability matter.

Native support for the most commonly used assurance case notations

ASCE supports a diverse range of graphical notations and diagrams, including CAE, GSN, Bow Tie, Fault Tree, and more.

CAE

Claims Arguments Evidence (CAE) is a powerful framework for structuring and communicating the trustworthiness of complex systems across safety, security and wider system concerns. Co‑developed by Adelard and the City St George’s University of London, CAE has become one of the most widely used notations for assurance case development due to its clear, user‑friendly visual structure and its ability to support rigorous, defensible reasoning.

ASCE includes several CAE schemas, including the latest ASCAD 2.0. This modernised schema aligns with the Assurance 2.0 framework, enabling users to tackle emerging assurance challenges - particularly those introduced by autonomous systems and AI‑driven machine learning behaviour. With ASCE, teams can build CAE arguments that stay current, scalable and robust as systems evolve.

GSN

ASCE offers full support for Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) Version 3, the latest GSN community standard. Beyond the core concepts, elements, relationships and extensions, ASCE enhances GSN diagram development with a range of additional features such as notes, extended node properties, decorators and more - making it easier to build clear, maintainable and well‑structured assurance arguments at scale.

Our Modular GSN plugin extends this even further. It delivers full support for Modular Extensions, along with automation tools that update architectural views and manage references between modules. This modular approach enables new configurations to be created without reworking entire safety cases, helping organisations manage large, complex assurance structures in a scalable, efficient and future‑proof way.

Bow Tie analysis

ASCE includes Bow Tie schemas and a wide variety of helpful example networks, making it easy to build clear and structured models of threats, controls, and potential consequences. By integrating Bow Tie risk models directly into the wider assurance case, ASCE allows organisations to move beyond static risk diagrams - giving teams a dynamic and auditable view of how threats are mitigated and where vulnerabilities may still exist, as well as how those vulnerabilities interact with and impact the rest of the system.
