ASCE 

Our software ASCE (Assurance and Safety Case Environment) helps to simplify the creation and continuous management of safety, security, assurance, and compliance cases. 

This training course focuses on how to use ASCE effectively in practice, helping you build confidence in navigating the tool, applying its features, and working efficiently across the assurance case lifecycle. It provides hands‑on experience in using CAE and GSN notations within ASCE, enabling you to manage complex cases, maintain traceability, and get the most out of the platform. 

Assurance of Artificial Intelligence in high-integrity systems: What humans need to be able to trust AI

This one‑day course is designed for participants navigating the adoption, oversight, or assurance of AI. It explores the assurance challenges unique to AI and applies a whole‑system view of AI‑modulated systems (technology, data, people, processes, and governance). It also addresses long‑term impacts on human performance, organisational capability, and safety culture.

The course combines practical insight, exploration of cross‑sector standards relevant to AI assurance, and interactive discussion based around a fictional example system used throughout the day. 

Assurance cases for medical devices

This 2-day training course aims to provide an understanding of the assurance case concepts and approach, focusing on FDA requirements for new infusion pumps. It covers the fundamental concepts, regulatory requirements, methodologies and the best practice in the Medical Industry.

Introduction to structured assurance cases

Our training course provides an introduction to the fundamental concepts and good practice in structured assurance case development. The course covers both CAE and GSN notations, and it also introduces the ASCE tool and discusses its role within the assurance case development cycle. The course can be taken on its own, but it also provides a great foundation for participants attending the ASCE training course.

Security-informed safety

This one‑day course explores the role of cyber security in the system safety within modern, connected environments. As systems become increasingly connected, they are exposed to more frequent and evolving cyber threats, creating new risks, failure modes, and interdependencies.

Security and safety are therefore closely interconnected, and effective system assurance must address security risks alongside safety considerations. The course introduces key security concepts and principles, as well as practical approaches to designing and assuring systems that are both safe and secure. It also outlines how structured assurance techniques can be used to integrate safety and security within a coherent, unified framework.
