Adelard LLP is delighted to announce the signing of a major contract with SGN for consultancy coupled to the use of Adelard's software solution, ASCE.

The programme will see SGN's Gas Transporter Safety Case transformed from paper to digital providing near instantaneous reports and revisions at the push of a button.

Keeping the safety case in step with the dynamically changing environment in which SGN operates can be a real challenge and all the time there is the requirement to demonstrate to HSE continuing compliance with regulations.

Using ASCE instantly shows the current 'state of play' of the safety case and will allow SGN to manage the evolution of the safety case with more efficiency. With over 700 safety related documents covering policy and operation to manage, automation and configuration management are key objectives for the programme.

Implicit too in the process is capturing corporate memory to avoid losing snippets of key information often held within people's heads. It is these golden nuggets resulting from many years' experience that will be captured as part of the process of transformation and used for many years to come.

ASCE is a software product for the development, maintenance and communication of safety cases. It graphically shows the composition of the safety case allowing strengths and weaknesses to be quickly identified. In addition it dynamically links the safety case to its supporting documentation ensuring corporate knowledge and experience is maintained for the lifetime of the assets.

Robin Bloomfield, Partner at Adelard LLP commented that "We are delighted that SGN has chosen to work with Adelard on this very important programme. The combined strength of consulting capabilities and safely case management software clearly demonstrates the value SGN envisions in working with Adelard."

Bloomfield added "I am very encouraged that the recent investment in the product division is paying dividends. The product division now complements our consulting practice and is really beginning to drive customer value."
