Acmena and Adelard partner to bring Assurance and Safety Case Software to the Transport Sector
Australian Engineering and Management Consultancy Acmena has entered a strategic partnership with Adelard LLP to offer ASCE, the Assurance and Safety Case Environment to the Australian transport sector.
The partnership will see Acmena deliver the cutting-edge ASCE software providing the transport sector with an end-to-end solution for designing, maintaining and communicating safety and assurance cases. The partnership will also see Acmena provide the full range of consultancy, support and training services for the ASCE software solution.
Katherine Eastaughffe, Principal Consultant and Director, Acmena, said: “In highly regulated, safety-critical industries such as Rail, Defence, and Nuclear, customers not only have to achieve safety they have to document the evidence of how they got there. It is this ability, to provide smart information management and produce high quality reports to stakeholder requirements, that really attracted Acmena to ASCE. It fits right alongside our consulting activities in helping customers ensure they have identified all risks and that they are adequately controlling them.”
Robin Bloomfield, Senior Partner at Adelard LLP said “We believe there is huge potential for ASCE to make a difference in the transport sector thanks to the regulatory need for safety cases. Combining our leading ASCE software with Acmena's in-depth knowledge and expertise of the transport sector provides a unique offering to help this sector realise many efficiencies around creating and maintaining safety and assurance cases. We’re excited about the new partnership and expect to deliver significant benefits to Acmena’s current and future clients.”
ASCE instantly shows the current 'state of play' of your assurance or safety case as well as holding all your corporate knowledge and experience for the lifetime of the asset. It is invaluable in demonstrating to stakeholders the steps taken and the completeness of the safety or assurance case.
Additionally ASCE removes the document management headache, that of key person dependency, provides rigour in the process, cuts down by up to 80% the time spent in preparing bespoke reports and is the one place to go to for the current status of the safety case.
Acmena’s senior consultant, Alexandra Morey has been using ASCE in Melbourne’s Caulfield to Dandenong: Level Crossing Removal Project in her role as Safety Assurance Manager. She said “ASCE has proved very valuable in helping to explain to a diverse range of teams within the project their role to play in the overall safety argument and the evidence they generate to support it. It has also allowed us to develop the safety argument progressively whilst seeing a clear snapshot of what is and isn’t complete. There is a lot of potential for ASCE to help make safety assurance processes in the transport sector more efficient.”
