ASCE — User-Contributed Plugins

A number of users have developed plugins for ASCE, based on the ASCE developer documentation.

Disclaimer: user-contributed plugins are not supported by Adelard. No warranty is provided with respect to the correctness of their behaviour or fitness for purpose.

Installation

Plugins are posted on this site as zip files. Once you have downloaded and unzipped the file, you will see either a file whose name ends in .exe or .xml (as well, perhaps, as other documents such as a user manual).

Files ending in .exe: automatic installer
Simply double-click the file to run.
Files ending in .xml: manual installer
Copy the file into your user profile plugin folder and restart ASCE.

The first time you run the plugin, you will see a dialogue warning you that a new plugin has been detected, and prompting you to accept it. Click "Accept" to load the new plugin. Note that this dialogue has a checkbox which you can use to suppress warnings on subsequent occasions.

Goal completed plugin v2.2.xml

17 August 2007

This following user-developed plugin is developed by Tony Corkery, QinetiQ Boscombe Down, and is kindly made available here for download. Any questions regarding its usage or behaviour should be directed to the author: tcorkery(at)qinetiq.com (replace (at) with @). The accompanying documentation states:

The core purpose of this plug-in is to provide a visual representation of the completeness of a GSN argument using colour. The status is based solely on the completed status of the solutions. In addition, the plug-in provides the following facilities:

  • To reset the status fields of the nodes to remove the colours. This is particularly useful when the network needs to be printed in black and white or pasted into a document.
  • To manage groups of solutions which have the same user ID (i.e. multiple copies of the same solution). This is useful where the same solution is used on different parts of the network but the status needs to be synchronised. This also provides an easy way to update the title of repeated solutions from a single edit.
  • To convert GSN schema interpretations prior to 1.2 so that this plugin can be used.
