Defence/Weapons Safety and Environmental Cases
Over the past few years Adelard has been working with the Defence Ordnance Safety Group (DOSG) in the MOD to develop and evaluate Safety and Environmental Safety Case Templates. The intention is to provide a common approach and to simplify the development and maintenance of Safety and Environmental Cases.
On this page you can download the latest versions of the Safety and Environmental Case Templates.
The templates may be re-used freely as long as you acknowledge Adelard and DOSG as the original authors.
We have also developed an "Approved Code of Practice" which describes how to use the templates. This can also be downloaded from this page.
Although the templates were developed specifically for weapons systems, many aspects of the templates apply to a much wider scope of equipment. In particular they capture much of the UK's overall safety policy as presented in UK law and supporting HSE regulations.
The templates were developed using Adelard's ASCE (the Assurance and Safety Case Environment) system. You can download an evaluation version of ASCE here.

For each template we have also developed an HTML version. This can be read using a conventional web browser. We also provide a free tool - the ASCE Browser. This is a more friendly way of reading an ASCE HTML export. You can download the ASCE Browser here.
